Grace, Esther, and Jim hopped on a last minute flight from Arizona to Hawaii. A missing passport left Hawaii as their pitiful last option. (It's astonishing how airliners complain about work.) They boarded and took off to visit their friend Trent.
Meanwhile in Hawaii, Tim left his law office early to play beach volleyball at Kalapaki Beach.
Tim's boisterous roommate--the aforementioned Trent--picked up the Arizona crew and brought them home for New Year's festivities.
Grace assumed that Tim--an uptight and arrogant lawyer--was a tool destined to ruin their fun. Tim came home covered in sand; he walked in the front door with a hobo suit hanging over his shoulder. Jim introduced himself and handed Tim a beer. The can was cracked, friendship was formed, and the rest is history. |
