I remember the first time we met.  Rich and I worked at Shimano together and I was on my way to start a project in the warehouse mezzanine.  I walked right by his desk and Rich asked me if I needed help.  This is not a story of love at first sight.  Rich and I became good friends at Shimano, we shared the same likes.  We were in several activities together at Shimano, such as basketball and the company fitness challenge. As we became closer friends, I found myself becoming more attracted to him.

Our relationship developed slowly, and has continued to develop as we move into this next step.

I remember meeting Amanda for the first time as she walked through the warehouse office.  I stopped her to ask her if she needed help because I didn't know why she needed to go into the warehouse. As time progressed I got to know Amanda as an employee at Shimano.  We started to do activities together and I remember wanting to invite her to play basketball. Even though she wasn't very good.  I remember going to rock climbing with a group of employees and being impressed with how good she was.  Through all the activities and more time we spent together, I found Amanda to be a good friend and developed an attraction to her. And that is how it started.
